It’s easy to forget that new fans often don’t know much about you so it’s a good idea to help them get up to speed about your musical journey so far. Milestones are an overlooked feature on Facebook which allow you to do that and they let you record significant moments in your music life onto your News Feed/timeline.

Milestones are listed under the ‘Q & A, Event’ tab on the desktop version of Facebook. You can choose to hide them in your News Feed, however you should definitely show them so fans can see them as you create them.  Milestones from your career to include are:

• Single release dates (with cover art)
• Album release dates
  
• Album recording start dates
• Significant tour dates
• Festival appearances
• Radio appearances/sessions/playouts
• Appearances in press/media etc.

The information you can add to a Milestone.

Creating these ‘events’ in a period when you’re not doing very much is often a good idea as it reminds fans of your earlier successes and keeps them engaged.
