There’s an ever increasing number of places that musicians can post updates online. In addition to the usual social networking suspects (Facebook, Instagram etc) you can now add ‘stories’ to your YouTube channel and if you’re lucky enough to have a Google knowledge panel you can now also post updates there also. The updates on both platforms remain visible for seven days.
Is it worth bothering with these new features or will they be here today and gone tomorrow?
Well, I updated by Google panel with a story about my band’s current tour and that was viewed 476 times in a week. Not a huge amount, but if people are searching for my band on Google might they be people that wouldn’t know about my tour?
I think I’ll attempt to update Google with my ‘most important news of the week’. I could even be persuaded to give the YouTube stories a go. If you don’t give it a go, you’ll never know.
Got any questions about this post or how you can better market yourself?
