Video community Frederator Network has done some number crunching from 120 million views to try and find the most effective time to post a YouTube video.  Here are the resuslts that you need to know:

Best times to post

Results suggest these are the best times to upload on these days.

Online Video Viewing (like TV) peaks in the evening, so upload in the afternoon so that your video is indexed and ready to go before peak viewing.

Best days to post

Like any other social media, post before the peak.

Thursday or a Friday are best, the views from that build to a peak on a Saturday.

As with all published research this study examine just one audience (65% male, 80% 13-34 y/o, 40% US based).  You should check it out for ourself, see if it has an impact and adjust your posting strategies accordingly.
