Bands can spend quite a lot of money on filming promo videos and sometimes there isn’t any need to.  The camera and lens quality in your smart phone is probably sufficient.  You might still need to do a little colour correction in the editing however you can achieve some tremendous results with just an iPhone or other phone of its ilk.  Here is a music video shot using nothing other than an iPhone 4.

The thing to rememeber on ANY promo video is try and make such an interesting video that people will want to share it.  Concentrate not on how cool you want to look, instead create something that will make people go “Wow…I’ve just GOT to share this”.
