Using Fan Reactions To Help Market Your Gigs

I came across this little YouTube video advertising a theatre show through the medium of audience reactions after they had seen a performance.

It’s a form of social proofing, using the behaviours of people to try and influence others.  In this case, we’re saying “hey, these guys liked the show, come along because you will too”.

So, here’s the idea.  If you’ve whipped up the audience at a gig, have someone with a camera phone to capture fan reactions on the way out.  Edit the snippets into a snappy reel and you can use this as a way of encouraging fans to come to your gigs and also to sell yourself to promoters and venues for future bookings.  Give it a whirl!
