BANDS: Boosting Your Posts On Facebook? Make Sure They Look Like This

If you are paying to boost your Facebook posts to reach a bigger audience you need to make sure that these posts are effective and you’re getting the most bang for your buck. Here’s a post that appeared on my news feed.

good-fb-post

I hadn’t heard of this band prior to seeing this boosted post and I thought this was a great example of a post for the following reasons:

  1. Even though the post is promoting an event, it’s using video, the most engaging form of content you have to showcase music.

  2. There’s a URL within the text of the post to click for further details of not just this gig but the band’s other gigs.  This is handy for people to see your other gig dates if they can’t make this one.

  3. It ends with ‘Who’s coming?” seeking a response and engagement from the audience.  If you get a load of comments from your fans this not only increases (free!) organic reach but a post with many comments and replies could further entice curious people to check out the video.

One improvement to the post I would suggest is that there should be something within the post which describes the genre of music.  Something like this

“If you want a night of great classic rock, get down to The Fandango Club, Manchester on Sat 23rd August etc etc etc”

Try this format the next time you pay to promote your Facebook posts and see how you get on.
